On-Line Plain

The software can take input from a digital display connected to the measuring device, using the RS232 protocol. The software can be set to accommodate the default settings from a range of manufacturers. A cable is required to connect the output from the digital display to the serial (COM) port of the PC.

Measurements can be taken directly or with reference to calibrated standard blocks, cylinders etc. The deviations of the standard (i.e. the actual size ) is used for the calculation of size; thermal and compressive effects are also computed.

Repeat readings can be taken either manually or by software timer, when the mean and standard deviation (hence six sigma) are calculated automatically.

On-line plain measuring not only ensures that correct measurements are automatically recorded, but further increases in productivity can be achieved by setting up a number of similar items to be measured sequentially in a ‘Batch’.
