Calibration Details

When a gauge is next calibrated the software responds to the Calibration Procedure assigned to the gauge. Normally measured values for each dimension would be entered and checked against the allowable tolerances set for the gauge dimension. Out-of-tolerance values prevent a gauge being issued to a production area unless a Concession is signed within the system.

Reference items used for the calibration are recorded in the system together with their own Next Calibration date.

If the item is calibrated by an external laboratory, either the full details from the certificate can be entered or just the Certificate number and calibration date, as required.

A new life is assigned to the gauge following a successful calibration.
